Jason Bussell is an acupuncturist, herbalist, President Emeritus of the Illinois Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (, and serves as Vice-Chairman on the Illinois State Government's Board of acupuncture.  Jason is also a member of the Curriculum Advisory Board for the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. 

He grew up in Wilmette, Illinois in a family of physicians.  Jason studied Psychology at DePaul university, graduating with honors; then worked in inpatient psychiatry for many years, working with addictions, children, adolescents, and the chronically mentally ill.  He studied pre-med  at Loyola University and was all set to attend Medical school when he changed gears and chose to study Oriental medicine. 

Jason completed the four-year Master's of Science in Oriental Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, graduating with honors.  This is where he met his wife, Jeanie  Bussell.  They both additionally completed an advanced course of training and a clinical internship at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GUCM) in mainland China and their affiliated hospitals.  Together, they own and operate "A Center for Oriental Medicine" in Wilmette, IL.  Jeanie specializes in the treatment of infertility and is one of the top fertility acupuncturists in the Midwest.  Jeanie is also director of "The Tiffani Kim Institute" where they both practice as well. Jeanie and Jason recently became two of the first American's ever admitted to the PhD program in acupuncture at GUCM, one of the top Chinese medical universities in the world.  GUCM's website features them taking their entrance exam.  Recently, Jason became the first American to earn an internationally-recognized PhD in acupuncture from this University.

Jason is also a teacher and lecturer, having presented to medical doctors, medical students (Western and Oriental), nurses, dentists, physical therapists, Cancer Wellness Staff, hospice care workers, corporations, and the general public on a wide variety of topics.  He has been interviewed on several nationally-syndicated radio shows.  Jason  is available to speak to groups.  To contact the author, please send an email to:
